5-Star Ranking - Best of the Best

  • Trollhunter (2011) - Three student filmmakers learn of a man who slays trolls for the Norwegian government. They risk everything to understand more about this odd world. An interesting take on the lore with likable characters, an interesting story, and documentary style presentation that feels grounded.

3-Star Ranking - Entertaining Watch
  • Cannibal Troll (2021) - A group of female friends go hiking in the English countryside one weekend, only to find themselves hunted by a beastly and very hungry troll. Although the writing isn't the best the film is entertaining enough with likable characters and decent acting.

2-Star Ranking - Could've Been Better
  • Troll 2 (1991) - While vacationing in the country, a family learns that the town they’re visiting is populated by trolls in disguise that plan on eating them. Although better than the first movie, this is a terrible movie with some entertaining bits and over-the-top acting.

1-Star Ranking - Total Garbage
  • Troll (1986) - When a family moves into a new apartment, the children meet an odd character hunting for a magic ring that he needs to carry out a fiendish plan. Everything about this movie is a head scratcher and makes little to no sense regarding the characters and overall story.
