3-Star Ranking - Entertaining Watch

  • Wishmaster (1997) - An evil creature is released after being imprisoned for centuries, tries to steal the soul of the scientist who released it and awaken its brethren. Not a perfect movie by any stretch of the imagination but an interesting take on the evil Djinn which Andrew Divoff portrayed brilliantly.
  • Wishmaster 2: Evil Never Dies (1999) - During a botched art heist, Morgana unwittingly frees the Djinn from his gem prison who she now must stop with help from her ex-lover-turned priest. Not a good movie but there are some fun kills, and Andrew Divoff returns as the malevolent Djinn.

2-Star Ranking - Could've Been Better

  • Conjuring the Genie (2021) - After a young woman unleashes a demonic genie from an amulet, all hell breaks loose in a bloody battle to save herself and others. It's not a bad idea but movies like this are often held back by poor writing which often make characters dumb and wish induced deaths head scratchers.
  • Conjuring the Genie 2 (2022) - A group of friends summon a demon who grants their wishes, but they soon find themselves fighting for their lives. Like the first film the characters are incredibly dumb, and the Genie is a bit of a joke instead of a calculating, evil presence.
