Alien (1979) follows the crew of the commercial space tug Nostromo who encounter the eponymous Alien, a deadly and aggressive extraterrestrial set loose on the ship. Predator (1987) follows an elite military rescue team on a mission to save hostages in guerrilla-held territory in Central America who are being stalked and hunted by a technologically advanced alien.
